Quality Assurance Specialist (Manual Testing)

Tester’s primary responsibility is to test software pre and post deploy to ensure product meets requirements and is free of defects. The position involves close interaction with Arterra development and functional team members, as well as Arterra clients.

Responsibilities:
The QA tester’s primary job responsibilities will include:

Work with product/application designers and application developers at all stages to promote quality
Work with application development and product teams to understand requirements, business process, and application flow, document test plans, test scripts/cases, and test results
Create and document test plans, test scripts, and test results for new software development and platform regression
Execute test cases according to test plans/scripts and document results
Produce and prioritize bug reports
Reproduce bug reports from the field and write clear steps to reproduce
Run manual testing and support automated testing
Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis

Required Skills and Qualifications:

2+ years experience in a Quality Assurance, Tester or Development role
Understanding of software engineering and web development
At least two (2) years of specialized experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering.

Excellent communication skills required to document and report on defects and other software issues
Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
Experience with test automation
Ability to handle multiple tasks while adapting to changing priorities
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Ability to think out of the box and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills
Precise attention to details
Experience with web-based database applications preferred
Experience with Agile and iterative project life cycles preferred
