Sr. Device Product Manager

This Product Management leader will be responsible for the full life cycle product management of the Kajeet device portfolio. The successful deployment of the device portfolio requires continuous assessment of device and chipset technology, product trends, and the needs of target customer segments understood through user research and product-generated data, all in harmony with the longer-term business strategy. This position will be responsible for leading the strategic and tactical product management of the overall device portfolio, including vendor management. This position is also responsible for working closely with the Customer Operations and Strategy teams to ensure the device portfolio provides an exceptional customer experience with a positive impact on sales and profitability. This is a hands-on role, and the leader will drive chipset support, device definition, hardware design, vendor selection, contract negotiation, testing and acceptance among other duties. This role is a full-time role in our McLean, Virginia office (currently remote until at least March 2021). This position reports to the Head of Product.

A Day in the Life Will Likely Include:

Driving the product vision and roadmap for the device portfolio.
Defining the market for new product offerings, identifying and documenting customer needs and evaluating the competitive environment.
Based on market research and customer interactions, lead the effort to develop clear product requirements for new initiatives and enhancements that will drive our Agile development process.
Manage aspects of the product lifecycle short- and long-term strategy, including launch, maintenance, enhancements, partnerships and end of life activities as well as the execution of those related efforts for the roadmap to ensure we have the necessary business requirements and portfolio to meet market and customer needs.
Assess new and emerging technologies and evaluate how our existing portfolio can leverage these new technologies.
Working cross functionally, represent the voice of the customer to Engineering, Operations, Business Development, and to partner OEMs.
Identify best of breed technology and service providers with whom Kajeet might partner.
Define and lead RFPs, vendor selection, and negotiate procurement agreements.
Create product positioning and the related strategy and direction in support of marketing communication efforts, including mechanisms to measure ROI.
Track, analyze and communicate key metrics. I.e. financial, competitive and customer results and take appropriate actions to ensure operational excellence and achieving annual goals. Develop and execute to key financial and business targets/metrics for key products.
Recognized as the Subject Matter Expert for the device portfolio.

Sounds good? What You’ll Need to Land this Job:

5-7 plus years of Product Management experience across both Fortune 500 and start-up environments in either a Product Management or engineering role.
Highly prefer candidates with prior experience at a device OEM or mobile network operator focused on devices.
Thorough knowledge of data devices and chipsets.
Understanding of UMTS spectrum bands and the corresponding chipset ecosystem.
Experience in Agile development methodologies as a Product Owner or Product Manager
Experience working across organizational boundaries, including strong relationship management skills and working with outside vendors.
Project management and analytical skills.
A customer-first approach.
Experience driving significant impact in matrixed structures using influence.
Humility and a sense of humor.
Other skills that would really be awesome:

Background leading competitive bidding processes and RFPs.
Experience with sourcing, logistics planning, device testing and certification process.
Experience with eSIM.
Willingness to travel to visit customers, attend and staff conferences
